New app for cancer patients

The Eschborn-based company Innoplexus has released a new app called “Curia” for cancer patients. Using the app, which can be downloaded free of charge, patients can find information on treatment options, the names of specialists in their cancer type, and clinical studies from around the world.

The app guides the user step by step through a questionnaire that gathers the most important diagnostic characteristics. Based on this data – which only leaves the mobile phone in encrypted form on its way to German servers – the app then displays information that is precisely tailored to the patient’s needs. To use the app, a profile must be created with your name and email address.

“It’s always the same three questions that people ask themselves,” says company founder Gunjan Bhardwaj from conversations with patients and oncologists as well as experiences in his personal environment: “What are the treatment options? Which clinical trials can I participate in? Who is the expert for exactly my disease?” …
